Happy Spring, friends!
You know that TV show, My Strange Addiction? I think I have one. The kind where you say at the end, "holy hell, I'm exhausted. Why am I in this business? When can we do this again?" ๐ตโ๐ซ ๐
It's been a month since I reached out with a wink. Not because I ran out of things to say.
Because Q1 had me inside two major projects:
A 4,000-person sales kickoff and a 250 -person CEO summit
Different audiences.
Different objectives.
Different personalities in the room.
But both reminded me of something worth sharing.
People who choose to work in live experiences have a strange addiction.
To connection.
To creating moments.
Yes, there is chaos to tame.
Oh yes, there is stress in a pressure cooker.
But we thrive on and are addicted to creating something from scratch to deliver moments that hopefully create impact. Moments where hundreds or thousands of people experience something together in real time.
No edits.
No retakes.
No โletโs try that again.โ
(Which, by the wayโif you don't allow time for rehearsal, you will wish you could have a do-over.)
Thereโs something magical about a room full of humans participating, reacting, connecting, and moving together.
When it works, you can feel the shift in the room.
There's something magical about a room full of humans participating, reacting, connecting, moving.
When it works, you can feel the shift in the room.
Energy changes.
Ideas land.
And itโs why organizations continue to invest in events. When we put our energy and intention into creating a shared journey, we can deliver powerful messages that simply can't perform the same way through an email or a webinar.
The Takeaway
The power of an event isnโt the stage, the lights, or the agenda. Itโs the human journey to create shared meaning.
In my next wink, Iโll share something surprising that these two projects revealed:
Why a 4,000-person event can actually be easier to produce than a 200-person CEO summit.
Until then, if youโre struggling with how to bring people together this year and want another brain in the mix, please reach out.
โโKeep thinking, keep winking,
